At Miami Shores Baptist Academy (MSBA) children participate in learning experiences designed to promote the most important accomplishments of the early years: social/emotional development, helping children develop self-confidence, self-control, and to be part of a group; physical development, increasing motor skills; cognitive development, acquiring thinking skills; and language development, using words to communicate, listening to and understanding others. The purpose of our program is to prepare children for success in school and life. The most important goal we have is for children to get along well with others and become enthusiastic learners.

MSB Academy is for children ages 6 months through 2nd grade.

Monday - Friday -7:00am-6:00pm

Part time hours are available. Call for details.

Kindergarten/2nd Grade Hours
Monday - Friday- 9:00-2:30
Early Arrival- 7:00 a.m.
Extended Day- 2:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Office Hours
Monday - Friday- 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Classes
3 months-Crawling
Crawling-Walking;Walking-23 months
2 year olds
3 year olds
4 year olds (Pre Kindergarten)- must be 4 by September 1 of registering year
Kindergarten- must be 5 or 6 by September 1 of registering year
1st grade- must be 6 and completed Kindergarten by September 1 of registering year
2nd grade- must be 7 and completed 1st grade to register


Weekly Activities

Chapel
Children 2 years and up attend chapel once a week.
They sing songs, learn scripture and hear Bible Stories.

Music
The children have music once per week with a music teacher.
They will learn some basic music skills & fun songs.

Cooking
Each week the children have cooking.This is a time where they focus on
following simple directions and enjoying different foods that they have prepared.

Extended Day
Extended day occurs every day from 2:30-5:30. This time will include
art, crafts, work at learning centers, playground, and snack.


After School Extra Activities
Each week there are after school activities that children can participate in.
These activities include:


Ballet for 2 year olds
Ballet for 3 and 4 year olds
Tumbling for 2 year olds
Tumbling for 3 and 4 year olds

Other special happenings through out the school year-

Holiday parties, International Dinner, Christmas Program, Spring Program &
Graduation, The Little Farm visits the school, splash days, and Family Fun Day.

Opportunities for parents:
Each month we offer "CoffeeTalk" for women. It is sponsored by the Academy.
These are times to enjoy some good food, good fellowship and
hear inspirational messages.

Summer Camp:
Summer camp is offered for children 6 months through 3rd grade
each summer from 9:00-2:30, with extended day to 5:30pm
for those whose parents work.
During the summer the children participate in fun theme
related weeks like "What's under the Sea",
"Lions, Tigers, and Bears" and "God Bless America".
Children participate in IN-house field trips and Off Site Field Trips.
